TENANT APPLICATIONS

Application Processes (Rent-Geared-to-Income & Market Rent)

Rent-Geared-to-Income (RGI) Applicant:

As Ellwood House is governed by the Housing Services Act, all RGI applicants are obtained from the city of Ottawa.  If you would like to apply for an RGI unit, please contact the City of Ottawa and complete an application.  Once your application is submitted to the City, it will be reviewed and added to the waiting list.  You will be contacted when you have reached the top of the waiting list.

When an RGI unit is available, Ellwood House will obtain the information of the applicant at the top of the wait list and contact the applicant.  If the applicant is interested in the unit, then the applicant must submit a fully completed application form which can be done in person or via email.

Once you have submitted your application form the following will be completed:

  • Orient the applicant(s) of the requirements and expectations of tenancy.

  • Collect the required RGI documentation so that a housing charge calculation can be completed.

  • Perform a credit and background check.
